Bankruptcy Attorney David Sweeney was born and raised in the west Tennessee town of Selmer in McNairy County. After graduating high school in 1976, David left Selmer and attended college at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He received an MS degree in business marketing. During both high school and college David worked at a variety of jobs to finance his education. From bartending to working offshore on an oil rig. In 1984 David enrolled at law school at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law located in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his law degree as well as an honorary Proctor of Admiralty designation in 1987. Admitted to practice in Tennessee in 1987, David has practiced in Memphis and West Tennessee. He has been an advocate for consumer issues. His practice has focused primarily in the areas of bankruptcy and consumers rights, estate planning and corporate formation.
