Welcome to Mahany & Ertl, a uniquely different law firm. We are a small firm with a big presence and a powerful punch. Every day we strive to deliver great service and the best legal work at affordable prices.
Mahany & Ertl is a small firm because volume is not our focus. We understand that there are many great lawyers and law firms. What sets us apart is that we treat each client as if they are only client. We also genuinely enjoy what we do. Passion is hard to find these days but easy to find in any of our offices.
Mahany & Ertl started with a simple concept: We judge our success by the results we obtain for our clients. Since opening our doors, we have quickly become a leader in the legal community. When you need a lawyer, call us. Whether you call us first or last, we are sure that you will
We concentrate in the areas of Fraud Recovery, Foreclosure Fraud, False Claims Act (whistleblower cases), International Fraud Recovery, White Collar Criminal Defense, Tax Advice & Controversy, Offshore (Foreign) Tax Reporting and Investment Fraud. From our offices in Milwaukee, Detroit, Minneapolis & Portland we represent people and businesses anywhere in the United States and beyond.
We are proud to be the sole source legal services provider to the CPAmerica and CPAConnect organizations. Many of our lawyers have been listed in SuperLawyers, Avvo rated 10.0 “Superb” and / or on the National Trial Lawyer’s Association list of top 100 trial lawyers.
If you do nothing else while visiting our site, please visit our blog, Due Diligence. With over 500,000 visitors per year, it was widely read around the world by clients, taxpayers, fraud victims, government agents and other lawyers. Our blog features a search engine and is an ideal way to find current information on the areas of law we practice.
Recently we read that senior partners at “BigLaw” billed an average of $873 last year. Notwithstanding high legal unemployment and a poor economy, an ABA study found that hourly rates charged by law firms increased by almost 5% in 2011. Partners practicing tax law, for instance, averaged $661 per hour.
Although we are not the lowest priced lawyers, we offer a far better value than large law firms. We know what our services are worth and charge flat or success based fees on 3/4′s of our cases. Alternative fees give all parties predictability. For clients who seek traditional hourly rates, we charge a flat $300 per hour for partners and $175 for associates. More importantly, we never double or triple bill and don’t train associates by assigning them to hourly fee clients.
If value and great legal results are what you seek, look no further.
